Rose Dryad Redux by OllyChimera Rose Dryad Redux by OllyChimera
Finally got around to redoing my old Rose Dryad piece. dA's current contest provided the motivation to finally do it. I spent much longer on this than the original, I'm pretty sure, and not just because of the addition of a background. I really wanted to push much more realism with this piece as a whole.

She's on a shelf inside of a broken, abandoned greenhouse, the only thing in the area left growing and flourishing.

Original is located in my scraps here: fav.me/d2phj4s

Available as a print as a 5"x7" for $5.00 or a 10"x12" for $10.00. Please PM me if you'd like one and I can mail it out to you.

Hi Olly,

Thank you so much for entering this wonderful painting into the Jigarama Puzzle Contest.

I personally feel it does not need a nudity warning. It is done so artistically and in such good taste. I don't profess to be an art critic.lol. but I think this is a very thoughtfull and skillfully done piece of artwork.

I love the theme of the painting. The color scheme is so complimentary to the theme of the painting also. Doing the Dryad in green( to me the color or rebirth and spring) was an excellent choice for her skin color.

The background depicting the broken glass of the greenhouse is so very good. Wonderful work on the transparency of the glass in front of the flower pot. It is so very realistic looking. The flow, unity and balance of the entire composition is so extremely well done.

I wish you the best of luck in the contest and Thank you again for entering this into the contest.

Lynn

Thank you so very much to take your time for such a thorough, wonderful comment. I appreciate every bit of it, and thank you again for the good luck wishes, it's a pleasure to participate in the group.

I've also tried a couple puzzles on the site. It's fun, great job on the programming, organization, and simplicity of use.

Thank you again. I just completed puzzle version of my "Meet of Two Chimers" picture. I was able to it in under an hour this time, but I think that's because I have my own artwork memorized :D

Hi, your really fast at doing jigsaws. lol.

You can change the difficulty level of the puzzles in the drop down options at the top in the puzzle program.

I just make them using the number of pieces that makes the final puzzle picture look it's best.

Thank you very much! One of the trickiest parts was deciding what the background was going to be.

I know how you feel. I'm always indecisive when it comes to choosing a background. I think you did a great job on this one!
